- St. Petersburg has distinguished itself with one of Florida's largest gay and lesbian populations, as well as becoming an attractive destination for gay and lesbian visitors. In addition, with St. Petersburg at the heart of the Tampa Bay area, the gay and lesbian community has developed a vibrant and welcomed centrally-located array of business and leisure destinations within one of Florida's most culturally diverse cities. We want St Pete Pride to be a celebration in being out and proud, not just in ourselves but in St Petersburg's arts, culture, history, charming neighborhoods, and great people.
